Tour description

Plunge into wonders of ancient Rome on our Semi-private Colosseum with Arena Tour and let our guide narrate stories of gladiators and Roman Emperors, allowing the ruins of the amphitheater to come to life again. Enjoy the intimate atmosphere of a group of 15 people and discover what was once the pulsing heart of the Roman Empire.

Your first stop is the Colosseum, the main arena for gladiatorial games in the Roman Empire. Built over 2,000 years ago, the Colosseum played an important social role, empowering everyong in Rome, regardless of their status, to participate in Rome's festivities. Benefit from our pre-booked access and save precious visiting time. Listen to the stories about how this huge arena was built in only eight years, and how it hosted the famous munera, the gladiatorial games. Learn about how the gladiators would prepare themselves for battle, how the emperors would decide on matters of life and death, and how the stage of the amphitheater would be filled with water to reenact battleships.

Once outside of the Colosseum, your guide will lead you to the Palatine Hill, where Romulus, the first ruler of Rome, built the original settlement that would later on become one of the most powerful empires in mankind's history. Here you'll have the opportunity to enjoy an unique panoramic view of the Roman Forum and Circus Maximus.

Your tour will end after visiting the Roman Forum, once the central stage of Rome's political and commercial life. Here you would have seen politicians going to the Senate, as well as shopkeepers negotiating with clients, but also public rallies, triumphant parades, and famous writers giving public speaches.

Book now and travel back in time, while discovering the power of the Roman Empire.
