Your tour will proceed to the Cathedral of Siena, the so-called “Duomo”, a medieval Church built in the 13th century. The façade of the Cathedral of Siena is one of the most impressive in all of Italy, and the inside is made of a mix of black and white marble . It is considered that these colors symbolize the black and white horses of the legendary founders of the city - Senius and Aschius. Black and white are even the colors of Siena's soccer team! Once outside the Cathedral, your guide will lead you along Siena’s little alleys. You will be able to stop for nice pictures, enter the little artisan shops and even taste the local cookies! At the end of the stroll you will reach the famous Campo Square, where the Horse Palio race takes place in July and August. In the shape of a shell and in a slight spiral decline towards the center, this is one of Europe’s greatest medieval squares.
